The Founder
Gabriel Mitroi is the sole inventor of the Photonic Accelerator Unit and the founder of Akashion.
The work spans system architecture, photonic device design, software simulation, and the strategy for translating a research-grade design into a manufacturable accelerator. The provisional US patent — filed at the USPTO in April 2026 with Gabriel as sole inventor — is the formal expression of that work.
Akashion is the company being formed to take the architecture forward.
The Entity
Akashion is being incorporated as a US Delaware C-Corp — the standard structure for IP-bearing technology companies and a clean foundation for US grant programmes, federal contracting, and venture investment.
The PAU patent is filed in the United States. Akashion will be 100% US-owned at incorporation. The architecture, the IP, and the entity all sit within US jurisdiction.
The path from a validated architecture to a deployed accelerator runs through partnerships — with foundries, integrators, end users, and capital providers who understand long-cycle hardware. Akashion is built to engage with each of them.
